According to research by the American Psychological Association, only 20% of American teens report reading a book, magazine or newspaper daily for pleasure, but more than 80% report using social media daily. Traditional reading seems to be a dying art that is being snuffed out by playing video games, watching cat videos, and scrolling timelines in an average of 11 hours a day! What can we as parents do to combat scrolling and encourage page turning in this increasingly tech-driven society?
